Horatio Nelson Sherar (William Sherar & Harriet Enright)and Charlotte Farrington McKinnon (Harry Farrington & Sarah Imhoff). Horatio was born on 26 Jan 1856 in New Carlisle, Bonaventure Co., Quebec and died on 10 May 1936 in Hennepin Co., Minnesota. Charlotte was born on 28 Jul 1861 in New Carlisle and died on 27 May 1951, also in Hennepin Co., Minnesota. The couple were married on 12 Dec 1887 in New Carlisle.

Charlotte Farrington maintained an extraordinary connection with both the Gaspé and the St. Croix River Valley of Minnesota and Wisconsin. She first married John Stewart McKinnon in Hudson, St. Croix Co., Wisconsin on 25 Jun 1881. John, whose parents were Neil McKinnon and Catherine Flowers, was also born in New Carlisle on 14 Jun 1853. John and Charlotte had two children in Stillwater, Minnesota and then moved back to New Carlisle sometime before their third child was born there in 1886. John McKinnon died just a short time later, on 24 Nov 1886, in Paspébiac, Bonaventure Co., Quebec.

Charlotte then married Horatio Sherar in late 1887 in New Carlisle. They had six children in New Carlisle before Charlotte and her family moved back to Stillwater from New Carlisle by 22 Oct 1899, where she is noted as one of the sponsors at a baptism, along with three other former New Carlisle natives: Clinton Scott, Florence Ross, and Stuart Flowers.
